B2B Research Guide

Is Shopify Good for B2B?

Yes for many B2B sellers, and no for some. B2B is available on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus, so here is what each plan includes and where the limits sit.

Three Questions That Decide It

How Many Price Lists Do You Need?

Up to 3 active B2B catalogs fit on Basic, Grow and Advanced, while Plus has no limit. If you run many price groups, this one question can decide your plan.

How Do Your Buyers Pay?

Net terms, vaulted cards and ACH are on all four plans. Deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment are Plus only, so those needs point one way.

How Custom Is Your Product?

Shopify suits products sold as fixed variants. Very complex configure-to-order, or rigid punchout and EDI requirements, are where we would tell you to look elsewhere.

How to Decide in Four Steps

  1. List Your Buyer Rules

Write down your price groups, payment terms, minimums and shipping rules.

  2. Match Them to a Plan

Use the table above to find the lowest plan that covers the list.

  3. Walk Through a Real Order

Pick a typical order from last month and trace how it would run on that plan.

  4. Price the Gaps

Anything left over needs an app or custom work. Cost that before you commit.

  • Five-star review from SLAT-CO: This app is great! We found it saves so much time with the click to draft order feature. It saves double handling and having to manually enter items in as a draft order. The CRM and quote win/loss data is great at tracking sales efficiency also. Highly recommend!
